Web Accessibility

An essential guide for librarians to support them in applying web accessibility criteria to their online research guides.

Guiding Principles

Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) are organized under four principles:

  • Perceivable- learners can navigate the content through the senses.

  • Operable- allows learners to navigate the information independently using their preferred devices.

  • Understandable - use a consistent and predictable design.

  • Robust -compatible with operating systems, browsers, and current technologies, including assistive technologies.
