Sociology: Books & e-Books

This guide is a starting point for research related to sociology at Florida Tech.

Distance Learner?

How can I acquire books from the Evans Library Collection?

Books not available electronically may be available to Distance Students via Document Delivery. Requests can be made using ILLiad, our Web-based interlibrary loan and document delivery management system.

At this time, we are not able to supply books from other libraries to Distance Students. Please utilize your nearest public library for this purpose.

Classification systems used in libraries

Like many other academic libraries, the Evans Library uses the Library of Congress (LC) classification system. Most public libraries use the Dewey Decimal Classification (Dewey) to organize their items.

Here is a chart of call numbers that may be helpful in finding items in both academic and public libraries.

Public (Dewey)
