Find Journals to Publish Your Research

Publisher Open Access Policies

Many publishers allow pre- or post-print versions of your work to be deposited in repositories such as Florida Tech’s Scholarship Repository (repository.fit.edu). Find specific policies here: Open Access Policy Finder

While some publishers request a full transfer of rights, authors are not required to give up all ownership. You can instead license only the rights needed for publication—typically the right of first publication—while retaining others. This approach, known as unbundling, helps ensure you can still share and reuse your work, including repository deposit. Authors are encouraged to negotiate these terms prior to signing any publishing agreement.
