SAVING AS A PDF/A FILE IN WORD FOR WINDOWS
Saving your MS Word document as a PDF/A file is not difficult, but involves a few steps. Please note that a regular PDF file is not a PDF/A file. Below are screen shots explaining how to save your MS Word document as a PDF/A file in a PC environment.
1. Choose Tools > Print Production
2. Click Preflight
3 In the Preflight dialog box, click Profiles
4. Expand the PDF/A Compliance profile and select "Convert to PDF/A-1b"
5. Click Analyze And Fix
6. Save to convert the file to PDF/A
