Electronic Thesis and Dissertation (ETD) Submission

How to Submit your ETD

Go to the Florida Tech Scholarship Repository

Select My Account and then Login using your TRACKS account

Navigate back to the home page of the repository and then select the Thesis and Dissertation Collection under Browse Research and Scholarship.

On the left side of the page under Author Corner, review the policies and FAQs then select Submit Research when you are ready to upload.

Review the Submission Agreement and check the box at the bottom of the screen.

You should now be on the submission screen. Required fields are indicated.

Your Title should match your document and be the same on the coverage, signature page, and abstract page. For this submission it should use Headline Capitalization.

Author should include your full name as it appears on your thesis or dissertation and includes Florida Institute of Technology under institution

The Date of Award should be the Month and Year of your graduation as it appears on your title page.

The Document Type should be a thesis, dissertation, or doctoral research project. If your document doesn't fall into one of these categories you should be uploading to a different location.

Degree Name is the general name of the degree in most cases and not include the discipline. For example Master of Science, not Master of Science in Civil Engineering.

Under department select the current name of your department. Older names may be included on the list.

College of Aeronautics and Bisk College of Business select your college.

For the College of Engineering and Sciences, select from:

  • Aerospace, Physics, and Space Sciences
  • Biomedical Engineering and Sciences
  • Chemistry and Chemical Engineering
  • Electrical Engineering and Computer Science
  • Mathematics and Systems Engineering
  • Mechanical and Civil Engineering
  • Ocean Engineering and Marine Sciences

For the College of Psychology and Liberal Arts, select from:

  • Arts and Communication
  • Behavioral Analysis
  • Psychology

Under Advisors, list the first four advisors listed on your signature pages starting with your major advisor.

Keywords are not required but will make your dissertation or thesis more findable. Keywords should be separated by commas and limited to 10 keywords or phrases.

You may choose the subject categories that best match your discipline and degree. Additional relevant categories may be added. However, this field is used to sort theses and dissertations into their appropriate departments so the repository administrator may make changes to your selection. If unsure leave it blank and a category will be added prior to publishing.

Copy your abstract from your thesis or dissertation and paste it under the Abstract heading. You can use the tools to format it, if needed.

The Comments section is used for any additional text that needs to be displayed on the index page. Primarily we use it to indicate if you are intending to use a Standard Copyright. If so please enter "Copyright held by author" and/or include a copyright page in your document.

Upload a PDF of your thesis or dissertation. If you wish to include additional data files or the original MS Word or LaTeX files please use the Additional Files option below.

Select the Additional Files option if you have supplemental files to include. A secondary upload screen will come up after you click submit.

Embargo Periods are used rarely. Typically if you need additional time for the publishing process or patent filing, you would have the embargo approved by your advisor. Embargoes are generally for six months, one year, or two years from the date of your graduation. For example, if you are graduation on 12/16/2023 set the embargo to 6/16/2024, 12/16/2024, or 12/16/2025.

Finally, press the Submit button when you are done.

At this point, your submission will be reviewed by the Office of Graduate Programs. You will be contacted via email if any changes are required to your document or if you have additional documents to submit. If revisions are required you will have the option to edit your submission.
