Transitioning Courses Online

Use this guide to locate resources that can help you with your courses as FL Tech transitions to online instruction for the Spring 2020 semester.

Using the Library Wherever You Are

All Library material is available to you remotely. There are TWO THINGS to keep in mind:

1 - If you start your search from the Library website or have already been prompted to enter your TRACKS account during your current online session, you will automatically be proxied through FL Tech and allowed access to the item. (No paywall, please login or cannot access notices).

2 - If you start a search from outside the Library website (lib.fit.edu) when you are off-campus, the search or article link will NOT automatically proxy through FL Tech. You will have to add the proxy manually OR just copy the full title of the article into the search bar on the library homepage and the article will appear at the top of your search results.

Install Zotero Connector on your browser to automatically detect our institutional login.

Create a Proxy Bookmark

Another option is to make a bookmark that will automatically take you from where you are to the library's access to where you are.  To do this:

  • Right-click  Redirect Page via EZProxy
  • Select "Bookmark this Link" (Exact wording may vary by browser)
  • Whenever you are on a resource that you would like to access via the library, click on that bookmark.
