Who are Community Patrons?

Community patrons are those not classified as Florida Tech students, staff, or faculty.  Community patrons include alumni, ELS, Eastern Florida State College and University of Central Florida students as well as the general public.

    Community Patron library policy

    The Evans Library is open to all community patrons for academic purposes. 

    Library Cards

    Community users cannot be issued library cards.  Community users (patrons without TRACKS accounts) may read, scan (free), and copy (for a fee) Library materials within the Library, and may request temporary TRACKS logins from the Service Desk to access subscription databases from within the Library only.  Community users exempt from this policy that may be issued library cards are Florida Tech alumni, ELS students, Pilot College students, current Eastern Florida State College and University of Central Florida students, and dependents of Florida Tech faculty and staff (Florida tech faculty or staff must be present at the time of card issue).  

    Internet Policy

    To obtain a temporary TRACKS account for internet access, stop by the Service Desk with your photo ID to receive a login username and password. Access is on a first come, first served basis, and may be limited in order to accommodate Florida Tech students

    Circulation Policies

    Loan Period is two weeks and items can be renewed up to four times if there are no other user holds. Items can be renewed by presenting an Evans Library Community Card or the library material to be renewed at the service desk.  Renewals can also be made by phone at (321) 674 - 8086.

    Overdue Policy

    The Evans library is NOT obligated to send overdue notices but do so as a courtesy via the email address provided.  A due date receipt is given at the time of checkout.  Collection overdue fines are $.25 per item per day. Patrons are resposible for library items that they have borrowed and will be charged for lost items.  Items are automatically declared lost when they are 30 days past due. LOST FEES: The library will charge the replacement cost of the item plus a $25.00 processing fee.

    Returning Books

    During library hours all items should be returned to the service desk.  After hours, items may be returned to the library book drop located in the Babcock Street parking area and the Evans Library south entrance.
